About Us

Hi and Welcome To

Squnches Craft Network

I’ve been in love with handmade and creating handmade items for awhile now and years ago I found it so difficult to find small handmade businesses, businesses supplying what the bigger businesses didn’t have (true that the big businesses do not have everything).

So I started searching for them and one by one they appeared. Not wanting to keep all this to myself, I started to put together a networking site (Squnches Craft Network) in the hopes of making it the largest online craft network in Australia. Featuring handmade businesses, art and craft suppliers, markets, exhibitions and more, to showcase all the amazing talent and products that can be found around the world. To share with the whole of  world, just what handmade has to offer. It has proven to be a great way for people to get their businesses known and keep in touch with the community.

I’ve discovered many of these businesses start out with little or no real financial aid, this is the main reason our prices are so amazingly affordable, that and we know that handmade items are worth every dollar so we feel if we charge too much, it will flow on to your product prices.
The big thing we offer in return when you list on our directory, is time. Time to be creative, to recover from an illness, to spend with your family, to relax and unwind. We promote your business and products over several avenues so that you don’t have to sit there in front of a computer for hours when you could be creating.

The goal? To have much of the handmade community online on our website, plus as many markets, guilds and groups as possible. So really making it the website to be on when it comes to what’s going on in the handmade community. If you have a business you would like to list on our website, please feel free to look through the deals we have on offer and select the one that is right for you.

Businesses accepted on our directory must firstly be handmade, we also accept small art and craft suppliers. These are small businesses supplying materials such as fabric, wool, beads etc. materials that handmade businesses purchase and use in their products. If you have any questions or concerns as to whether your business is suitable to list on our directory, please email us and we’ll be in touch.

Update

Since the arrival of COVID-19, we saw so many handmade businesses struggle and shut up shop, not to mention hearing of some markets also closing their doors. We understand, many shoppers and businesses are dedicated to buying from within their own country, which is fair.

We are here to promote and share handmade with the world. To restrict ourselves, is to limit our own horizons, our own ideas, inspirations, limit the friendships and more. We are all artists who use our talents, skills and creativity to create wonderful products that are useful, decorative, practical and much more. Many of the skills we have, have been taught to us, passed down through the family, some skills are fading as nobody teaches certain skills and crafts any more.

Some are new skills or a combination of an old skill with a new twist. We hope that you will continue to support our growing website and we will look into methods of searching businesses by location as our website grows.
Frequently

Asked Questions

A 404 Error message means that the page you are trying to reach on a website couldn’t be found on their server.

To clear this up a little more, it means that the server itself is reachable, the specific page showing the error is not.

There are many ways in which a 404 error can come across, essentially though, they are all stating the same thing, the page cannot be reached.

  • 404 Error
  • 404 Not Found
  • Error 404
  • The requested URL [URL] was not found on this server
  • HTTP 404
  • Error 404 Not Found
  • 404 File or Directory Not Found
  • HTTP 404 Not Found
  • 404 Page Not Found

What causes a 404 Error? Technically it is a client-side error, implying that the error is your mistake. Possible reasons include the URL being typed incorrectly, the page has been moved on the website and not redirected correctly or the page may have even be removed from the website.

  1. Retry the web page by refreshing/reloading or pressing the F5 button. The 404 Not Found error might appear for several reasons even though no real issue exists, so sometimes a simple refresh will often load the page you were looking for.
  2. Check for errors in the URL. Often times the 404 Error appears because the URL was typed wrong or the link that was clicked on points to the wrong URL.
  3. Move up one directory level at a time in the URL until you find something. For example if https://squnches.com/craft-directory/1309/squnches-jewellery-2/ gave you the 404 error message, move up to https://squnches.com/craft-directory/1309/ If you get nothing here, or an error, move up to https://squnches.com/craft-directory/ This should lead you toward what you are looking for or at least confirm that it’s no longer available.
  4. Clear your browser’s cache if you have any indication that the 404 error message might just be yours. For example, if you can reach the URL from your phone but not from your tablet, clearing the cache on your tablet’s browser might help. You might also consider clearing your browser’s cookies or at least the one(s) involved with the website in question if clearing the cache didn’t work.
  5. Contact the website directly. If they’ve removed the page you’re after then the 404 error is completely legitimate and they should be able to tell you that. If they’ve moved the page and are generating 404’s instead of redirecting visitors to the new page, they’ll be happy to hear from you so they can go fix it.
